Joan W. Gill, MEd, LPC

Joan Gill, M Ed, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor who brings a wealth of invaluable life experience and understanding to her practice. The fact that she returned to school after raising five children and acquired a master’s level degree in counseling tells a significant part of her story. In her professional world Joan combines cognitive behavior, humanistic therapies and EMDR (trauma resolution) to provide an effective psychotherapeutic approach for her clients. This, plus unconditional and non-judgmental empathy grounded in the deep experience of life, makes Joan a valuable resource. She works with adults and couples – including older individuals – who need assistance through life transitions, such as the loss of a loved one, retirement, job change or divorce. She also works effectively with people struggling with stress, anxiety, and/or depression.

Currently, Joan is pioneering a Woman’s Support Group for the Pre-Boomer Generation. As a history buff, she holds a clear understanding of the influences inherent in this age group. And, as a member of this generation, Joan’s knowledge of the challenges faced by this group brings immediacy and life to the issues. She can be reached at jwgill@sbcglobal.net and www.joangill.com or 713.906.0306.
